For fans of the AMC television series “Breaking Bad”, this is joyous news. From what is understood, this film will pick up where the series ended. The film may even revolve around characters Walter Hartwell White Sr. portrayed by Bryan Cranston and Jesse Bruce Pinkman played by actor Aaron Paul.
Walter White is also known as Heisenberg, the main protagonist of Breaking Bad. The working title for the film, will be potentially titled ‘Greenbrier’ according to Variety (via BGR). From what is understood, the film will first appear on Netflix…before being aired on the AMC network. AMC is the same network that promoted the series, which first aired back in 2005.
Netflix has been a big part of the success of Breaking Bad. It has allowed more of an audience to see this outstanding series. The show leaves viewers on a cliffhanger in just about each episode. The show lasted for 5 seasons and there were 62 different episodes. A number of companies were involved with Breaking Bad including High Bridge Entertainment, Gran Via Productions and Sony Pictures Television who also distributed the series.
From the great success of Breaking Bad, a prequel series was created entitled “Better Call Saul”. This series follows con-man turned small-time lawyer, Jimmy McGill played by Bob Odenkirk. Former beat cop Mike Ehrmantraut, portrayed by Jonathan Banks also stars in this series.
For many fans, seeing these characters again is a breath of fresh air after Breaking Bad ended. No doubt, the Netflix film will likely be worth seeing as well. Vince Gilligan is the creator of Breaking Bad, he publicly thanked Netflix for their support of the show and helping to give the series international popularity.
The plot has been kept under wraps but eager fans have speculated different scenarios about it. The film will likely follow the Jesse Pinkman character, after how things ended. Vince Gilligan will both write and direct the film. Estimations are, the length of the film will be at least 2 hours long possibly more. Until then, fans will have to wait for their next installment of this franchise series.
