You may know her as Margaery Tyrell, on the HBO series Game of Thrones from (2012-14). Natalie Dormer has expanded her career appearing in numerous television and film productions. Recently however, she has called it quits with writer/director Anthony Byrne. The pair have been together for 11 years.
They always wanted to collaborate together on a film and they eventually got their chance but it seems it came at a price.
Both of them first met one another, while working on the set of ‘The Tudors’ (2007-10). Not only is Natalie an actress but she also produces and writes as well. Most notably while on screen Natalie is known for her big doe eyes and asymmetrical smile.
While talking during an interview recently, 36 year old Natalie confirmed that their relation is now romantically over. The pair collaborated on their thriller film release ‘In Darkness’ (2018), a film that they both had written together. Perhaps creative differences brought out personal problems within their relationship and things escalated from there. In Darkness, also co-stars actress Emily Ratajkowski.
New Statesman magazine, a British political and cultural magazine published in London confirmed the rumors during their interview with Natalie recently. Natalie went on to say, that she wouldn’t recommend writing with your significant other, as it can cause massive arguments.
“Couples say terrible things to each other that you would never say to your best friend. We learned very quickly that we couldn’t write in the same room. Doors got slammed at various points and I wouldn’t necessarily rush into writing with Anthony again, but I have huge respect for him.”
Byrne later commented to The Hollywood Reporter: “Because we didn’t have an office or anything, we were in our own home writing, and then it would all kick off because we would disagree about something fundamentally or I would be a pain in the arse and I would challenge Nat, or myself. It’s very easy to go, ‘Oh, don’t worry about that, it’s going to be fine,’ and you have to police that and in doing so you end up being the bad guy and end up having massive arguments.”
Back during an interview in 2013, Natalie commented: “We are still very much engaged. We’ve just been so busy that we haven’t managed to get around to planning it. It won’t be a big one… We were thinking of around 40-odd guests.”
Sad times for the pair but they likely will bounce back in their person lives. Sometimes things are meant to happen for some reason or another.
